THE PROJECT

The overall goal of PANHERA project is to improve the competences of people managing hosting centres (i.e. pilgrimage centres, public and private welcoming structures, hostels, B&B, hotels, retreats centres, monastery accommodations, etc) along religious and cultural itineraries (i.e pilgrimages routes), and to enhance their capacity to provide good quality welcoming services.



Pilgrims Accommodation and New Host Expertise in Rural Areas (PANHERA)

PANHERA's Objectives

  • To improve competencies of people working in hosting centers among cultural and religious routes;
  • To improve and increase the availability and quality of learning opportunities, especially for those living in rural areas;
  • To enhance learners digital skills;
  • To identify the profiles of the tourists-pilgrims;
  • To promote new businesses and job creation in rural areas;
  • To establish a strategic partnership including representatives of all the partners’ organizations.

PANHERA'S MAIN ACTIVITIES

  • 6 press conferences/briefings to launch the project in each partner’s country
  • Field research in Bulgaria, Norway, Turkey, Romania, Spain, and Italy for analyzing the training needs;
  • Development of a training course;
  • Development of online training guidelines
  • Development of 1 common certification system;
  • 1 Web-based open education platform.

TARGET GROUPS

  • People managing and working in hosting structures in rural areas crossed by cultural and religious routes;
  • Organizations and actors involved in services supporting the hosting and presence of pilgrims-tourists –  religious organizations, networks managing and promoting pilgrims routes; civil society and volunteering organizations. 
  • 3 Blended mobilities, involving more than 50 learners from the partners’ countries involved in the project
  • 1 International Closing Conference to disseminate project results and intellectual outputs
  • 5 National Dissemination Events to present project intellectual outputs and results
  • 1 Short-term joint staff training event attended by representatives of partners organizations and trainers
